  • Galaxy. Samsung. Batteries. Boom. Samsung Boom.
    Samsung, Korea.
Yes, South Korea but the young south still hate the Americans for being in their country.
So the young Koreans making products for a people they typically don't like.
Anyone see a problem with this?
    Boom.

Samsung does make some great products for the price. I just don't need 'Boom' in the house.

Once is an accident. Twice might be a problem. Three, four five? Nine, Ten?

Yes, I was there. Not for the "Frozen Chosin" but about 37 years later.
    Further remarks will be withheld.

  • Must be a difference in generations. I worked with the South Korean soldiers in 'nam in 1966 and 1967. They nearly worshiped the ground the U.S. soldiers walked on. Example.... One day in an outpost, person came in and said ""G.I.go home quick. V.C. come"". We got up to leave when the S.K. guys said, ""G.I. drink beer. V. C. no come"", and went out the back door. Ten minutes and about a hundred rounds of fire later, the S.K. guys came back. They repeated, "G.I. drink beer, V.C. no come", with a big smile on their faces.

  • A whole lot different now. The old Koreans appreciate the GI and what they have done/are doing.
The young ones just want the U.S. out at all cost. They all want the American Money, no doubt. Nothing else. So all the Korean workers are of the "Yankee Go Home" thought pattern. Now with greed as the motivator coupled with resentment. . .
Kia, Daewoo, Samsung, I have heard too many stories of various Samsung products going bad.
No thanx. I don't need a possible problem in the house.
I remember when Samsung first started having problems with products. Total denial.
As for Unification of the Koreas, North Korea would bankrupt the Souths economy.
China might not be too happy either when lots of the Southern Chinese ran all the
    way south.

  • Re: What a bummer
  • Thinking about this a bit further and adding a few years, I suspect most of the older Koreans who appreciated the GI, have long moved to Heaven. Now I suspect only the political leadership desires the retention of the American Presence.
    Can you say "Funding"?
