  • We had a yearling doe laying right against the back wall of the barn today.
    It's left rear hoof was broke off and hanging by just a piece of skin.
    It looked like it had been like that for a while the piece of leg bone looked like
    it was worn and muddy.
    We phoned the DEC and left a message. (No Reply)
    It eventually wandered off.
    Dam I didn't take a photo of it.
    It will probably end up coyote dinner

  • Strange. Possibly from a trap? You are correct, Coyotes would have gotten to it by now so must be recent or just a hearty survivor.
