  • Is it possible to send a text message from a desk top computer

  • Should mention:

Make it short or it will get truncated. I don't know the limit on characters.

  • Re: Is it possible
  • Worked instantly, I'm amazed. Guess it shows my Spectrum is a Verizon for a lot less money. Thanks for your help.

  • I can text on my Mac Mini to either another computer or a cellular number. The program is called Messages.

  • Re: Is it possible
  • How about sending a text to your computer? What would be the process to do the reverse of Davids question.

  • Re: Is it possible
  • Dave, I can type a message on my desktop computer and send it to a cell phone number but not a household telephone.

I use "Messages for Web" in order to do that.

  • Re: Is it possible
  • Yes.

All it takes is for you to know the address. Then it goes the same as an email.

This is my daughters Verizon address. (some numbers replaced with x's)

    515xxxxxxx@vtext.com
