  • More surgery !
  • Tomorrow's the big day, I'm having my second Rotator cuff surgery on my Left shoulder, I had my right done 3 years ago.
I've been in pain for the last several months so I'm looking forward to the surgery but not the many months of recovery and rehab- Been there done that !!
I'll be calling in favors from friends and family to help with lawn care and some other chores, Will also ask for volunteers to dismantle and remove my front deck, I'm having a very nice sun room/porch built !
Oh well, life goes on ! LOL

  • I think there is a song, it goes “ Get well soon “ My Island is too far away for me to be much help. And I sold my five foot mower. But I still have Herb 9N. My knees are not what they used to be. But I was 79 last Wednesday, so should not complain too much. Hope is all goes well for you.

  • Dave, I'll come up and open your Coors Lite cans for you. Of course, there will be a "tax" applied and I don't how much you'll get to drink from them.....LOL

Good luck on your surgery today. I've had both knees replaced, and now my right shoulder and left hip are "complaining" regularly. Gettin' old ain't for sissies, is it?

  • I feel for you Dave. Back in January I had a possible TIA. Went into emergency and stayed for a couple of days for some testing. Didn’t find anything conclusive. While I was there, they came around with some insulin for my diabetes. I told them I was not insulin dependent, just taking a pill to stimulate my pancreas into making my own insulin. They said that it was hospital policy to give all diabetics insulin. After 2 doses my blood glucose went off the chart. So they upped the insulin, and the blood glucose kept going up. They were still giving me the pill I usually take. I was glad to get out of there before they did some real damage. I’m back to normal (whatever normal is for me!) hopefully you’ll heal quickly.

  • With the extensive medical history in my family, parents, siblings and children, I have had strong belief in our medical sciences. The science is still there but the management, application and administration is, in my opinion, being challenged by lax or careless application by some providers. 2 of my family members recently experienced incorrect or almost incorrect minor non-surgical medical procedures. They are mother and daughter, both in medical fields (mother is a radiographer and daughter studying nursing) on separate occasions and situations. Both noticed the incorrect application and challenged the provider. Fortunately, no harm. Stay alert, challenge them!

  • You clearly had the wrong anesthesiologist for your procedure. Dr. Ed would have hooked you up correctly, dude:

  • Sorry to hear about your rotator cuffs. I tore my right rotator cuff 17 years ago, and had surgery done. Physical therapy wasn't fun, but neither was the torn rotator cuff until the surgery.

I hope family and friends come through for you, I know not being able to do things yourself is very frustrating. God speed and I pray your surgery and recovery goes well.
