  • Who Benefits from this Transaction???
  • Health Insurance companies build in billions of dollars of profits into their billing and coverage formulas.
This simply means that billions of dollars paid for insurance every year goes not for healthcare, not for doctor bills, not for hospital bills, not for medicine; it goes into the insurance company executives pockets.
In addition to this you could pay hundreds of thousands of dollars into health insurance in your life time and never get a penny back.
You can also pay hundreds of thousands of dollars into health insurance and still go broke if you get sick.
After deductibles, caps and limits on coverage and providers you can still end up owing tens of thousands on a lengthy hospital stay.
Now enter Government Subsidies, Medicare, and Medicaid.
The big benefit for low to middle income families in theory in ObamaCare is the subsidy. A family earning $52,000 a year can get about a $1000 per month in subsidies. Now who pays these subsidies?? The Federal Government... Who pays the Federal Government?? The family who earns $52,000 a year and you and me.
    Who makes the big profits??
    The insurance companies.
We would be better off to eliminate the middle man.
We would save billions of dollars per year.

  • Prior to third party pay, resulting from actions initiated by the federal government, health care costs were regulated by the invisible hand of the market (competition), and generally affordable.

We will never return to such reality unless the government gets completely out of the market, which, of course, will never happen.

  • Ever look at a Blue Cross Blue Shield Statement of benefits. The hospital bills $975.00 Blue Cross pays $125.00 the rest is waived except your deductible and co-pay.
So who ever pays the $975.00 bill other then the individual without insurance...
And why do different entities get different prices billed??

  • Another example, I use Bayer medical test strips. When prescribed and bought from the pharmacy my insurance is billed $225 per 100. My co-pay till meeting my deductible was well over 1/2 of that. If I go to Amazon they are $25.50 per 100. Wally World for one charges $25 for 25 of them, if you use their own brand $9 for 25. Pricing is all over the spectrum whenever the gubermint is involved.
