  • Late Night TV: Is it just me??
  • Has late night TV gone raving mad?
I work a lot at night and sometimes turn on the TV for background noise.
Lately one channel plays old Johnny Carson reruns. We forget how refreshingly funny he was until we hear hiim again. Some of his stuff is silly, but still funny. Carson did his usual Dan Quail jokes and poked fun at the presidents, and his jokes were jokes and just fun. This year I have noticed a huge contrast to Carsons "poking fun" with several late night liberals, including Fallen, Kimmel, and Meyers.. Meyers by far is the worst. He spends half his show berating our president with very visious and vile verbage. And he is not at all funny, and I don't believe he is even trying to be funny. If the TV channel is set on his station and his late night show comes on, I guickly vote with my fingers, and immediately turn him off.
My question here is when did late night TV become just political commentary? And who makes the programming decisions to spend so much time railing against our duly elected president? Have you guys notised a decidely mean streak, bordering on treason, with some of the misrepresentations? Or is it just me??

  • Last night at the local dock, I had a great chat with three guys from the Seattle WA area. They were on one of two classic old wooden boats.
We talked boats, bikes, sailing regattas, parties, places to visit. And what was refreshing, not one word about politics.

Island Mike. Finally home from the most excellent summer cruise, around Vancouver Island.

  • The real question is when did everything become political?

  • The exact reason I stopped watching the late night hosted shows after Jay Leno left the Tonight Show; (Letterman was also a scum bag obvious "O" lover and bashed Bush on every show). If you just want noise while working late, tune into RFD TV and listen to some great old country music bands; if you want a little drama, tune into the Hallmark channel and watch reruns of "Murder She Wrote" where mystery writer Jessica Fletcher solves a murder every night!
