  • Interesting graph. I wonder if the cost to OR and WA is from folks moving North to get out of CA. At first I wondered if it was some folks heading South from BC, but I doubt that. Costs are low in Idaho and Montana, probably because it is too darn cold in the winter.

Just finished reading about a girl who fell off her bicycle and broke an arm, and banged her head. $30,000.00. The San Fran Zuckerberg hospital is not part of the insurance companies billing practices, hence the rather large bill. Poor girl had no choice as she was a bit confused after the bike crash.

CA has to go seriously broke some day soon.

  • Cali is toast
  • It is amazing how liberals refuse to even look at or analyze the obvious and graphic consequences of their policies. Look at Detroit and what 50 years of Democrat rule has done to that once great city. Now, we get to observe that for an entire state. You and I have been around long enough to have observed the big rush to California back in the day and watch that state grow to become the best in about every category of measurement. Now look at what decades of liberal policies have done to this once great state. I think they now rank about 46th in education where I believe they once led this country. Their unfunded pensions and growing debt are turning this great state into a sh!thole. San Francisco is literally a sh!thole, with so much feces on public streets that an app was developed to map the droppings so tourists and caring citizens could avoid those streets. And, the libtards just keep doubling down and making it worse.

When Lemmings go over the cliff, they only kill themselves. Democrat Lemmings take everyone with them when they go.

  • Thank you for the post.
If I read it correctly, CA is close to the bottom with fiscal stability, and quality of life. That is what some of us have been alluding to for quite some time.
The more positive parts needs to be asked, is it sustainable? That is where future liabilities need to be considered, and it does not look good. Another measure is, what is the trend? To quote one lady on her way to hospital " When you get to sixty. you are on a roller coaster, and you ain't going up "

  • I was looking at the same stats:
    Opportunity #46
    Fiscal Stability #43
    Quality of Life #50

Remember Lex Luther? Instead of nuking California, just wait a little longer. And I am NOT laughing. I believe that the Federal Government can take control of fiscally irresponsible states and remove the administration. I could be wrong. Been known to happen. Your opinions may (probably will) vary.

  • New Gov. Newsom Expands Medi-Cal Coverage for Undocumented Young Adults

WASHINGTON -- Right after California Gov. Gavin Newsom was inaugurated into office today, he signed a series of executive orders on healthcare including making the Golden State the first in the nation to cover undocumented young adults under the state's Medicaid program.

Undocumented children and teens are already covered by Medi-Cal; the new directive follows the Affordable Care Act guideline of allowing most young adults to stay on their parents' plans until age 26.

Newsom's office called it a "major step toward universal coverage," along with other healthcare executive orders that comprise his first-year “California for All” agenda.

Those also include expanding the Medi-Cal pricing and purchasing for prescription drugs from 2 million beneficiaries to 13 million, with the eventual goal "to enable all Californians, including private purchasers, to join forces with public purchasers," and expanding Obamacare subsidies: the cutoff line has been individuals earning more than $48,000 a year or a family of four earning more than $98,000, but that will be bumped up to individuals earning up to $72,840 and families of 4 earning up to $150,600 with state funds filling the gap.
