  • Today In History -13th Amendment
  • On January 31, 1865, the 13th Amendment abolished slavery.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, which abolished slavery in the country. It read: 'Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude…shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.' The amendment helped the Congress pass laws against sex trafficking and any other form of slavery in the modern day. It was ratified in December the same year

Careful how you let that out. Liberals will construe that to mean prison time is involuntary servitude and demand all prisoners be released and the prisons and jails be closed and turned into recreation centers.
