  • Why Work?
  • Folks, it appears that about two thirds of those receiving unemployment benefits are receiving more in benies that they received in wages while working.

    What could possibly go wrong?

  • Most states' unemployment benefits are based on a percentage of what their income and time spent putting into the system was with their normal salary when working, so can't earn more than, BUT, with the additional 'stimulus' and additional rules that allow free health care coverage, you bet. Normally a person's healthcare benefits are not covered by UE insurance when laid off.

  • I can say the extra $600 helped when my wife was forced to shutter her business. When she got the green light to open they did. I was fortunate enough to work through the lockdown.

  • Few if any will say it does not help but it is certainly an incentive to not go back to work.

  • That extra money for democratic training is theoretically coming to an end this summer.
