  • Term Limits
  • This would solve nearly all of the fundamental problems with the US system of government but the parasites will never allow it.

  • For years, in the 60's to 90's, I practiced not voting for any incumbent. I could not convince others to do it.

  • So did I, with very rare exceptions.

  • "G.R.I.P." (Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians) has been advocated for years as a way to limit terms.

There are two sides to that theory:

    (1) A good representative for his constituents will be lost after one term.

    (2) A crooked politician will grab as much as he can knowing he is only there for one term.

  • Advocacy is for two 6-yeqr Senate terms and three 2-year House terms.

That's enough. Now go home and get a real job.

No lifetime pension. No lifetime healthcare.

    Go back to work.

  • I agree. But which legislator is going to give up the power they wield ? The money doesnít mean much to the bulk of this group. Vote yourself out of a cushy job . I donít think so.

  • Yep, I was led to understand our founders meant for members of congress to come and serve their "time" and go back home to their jobs and families. Kinda like being in the military. I, like Tim in his post, felt that term limits were already in place, it's called voting.

But now, talk to your neighbor or people on the street. They all agree that term limits is a good idea, but when asked about their own representative in congress the answer is: "Well....our guy is OK, but everyone else has to go..."

If Texans could vote in California and New York......

  • Beware, comrades from Kalifornia are flocking to Texas and will be voting there.

  • I used to contend that the best way to make changes in politics was to vote the politicians in or out at election time but now with all the left/socialist fraudulent voting involved, that doesn't work. You get one term to make a difference and then your are out and have to go get a real job. As you say, it'll never happen so why bother...
