Honor Our Country
If you are a true American, you know why we love this song/anthem - to honor our country. There was a time when all TV networks and most radio stations would play the National Anthem first thing before their daily broadcasting and the last thing before signing off at night. I listen to a radio station here in Saginaw, MI that still does this. Tim Daley(MI)

Re: Honor Our Country
I never knew stations did that until a sleep over at a friend’s house, i don't remember how old i was. but we stayed up all night playing the card game war and on came the Star Spangled Banner with Old Glory in the background. Stations don't sign off at night anymore they just keep playing more crap. That could be partly why we don’t see that anymore. Doug

Re: Honor Our Country
Touché, Doug. But they could if they wanted to. I listen to an AM Oldies radio station that only broadcasts from 06.00 til 18.00 and they play it before and after. That FM station I mentioned is on 24/7 but they play it every morning. TPD

Re: Honor Our Country
This is very true. A country station here 92.5 plays it every day at noon. I love it. There are a good number of things that should be resurrected to raise patriotism in this country. I remember Flag Day parades as a kid, proudly marched in them as a Boy Scout. They have gone by the way side. Memorial Day parades still go on and our troop participates, we have the scouts out the prior week placing flags on Veterans headstones. Doug
