No, they are not. Do not assume that they will not succeed. Socialism is a relentless siren song. It is inevitable that the US will continue down the socialism path and will eventually become the Western Hemisphere's equivalent of the now (temporarily, at least) defunct USSR. We are much too far along to stop it.

I’m enjoying watching foul mouthed James Carville losing his mind. I see a war coming in the Democratic Party. The nation’s move to the left may be inevitable, but watching the party fighting can be entertaining for awhile. Unfortunately I don’t believe that the Republican Party has the fortitude to do much.
