Congressional Repubs have long been satisfied in the minority so as to not be responsible for anything but things appear to be worsening.

Long term, it makes little difference, as the Trump administration is over in any event.

Reps are great at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Dems are mindless ruthless thugs who don't care who they hurt (or kill) to get what they think they want. At least USA politics is entertaining, if only in a bad way.
