  • Oregon School Shooting
  • Once again, it is an armed citizen that prevents a crazy shooter from killing more innocent children.

This is Oregon, folks. It will be interesting to see what Oregon does to the hero.

  • Bend is in Eastern Oregon. Conservative part of the state that votes red. Like California and Washington, the coastal area in Oregon rules the state and is blue. The inland area is red. Bottom line is I am not surprised a good citizen in Bend was armed and ready to take out the killer.

  • Good to know.

I glanced at a map before posting and noted that Bend is much left of center geographically and only 150 miles or so from Portland. Not familiar with where things change politically in Oregon.

  • Coast is bad, inland is good. Same in Washington. Once you get east of the Cascades, politics turn red, although I understand Spokane might have turned blue. In California, the coast rules but north of Sacramento it turns red. The central valley and desert areas are generally red. Movements in Oregon and California to split the state don't offer much promise. Eastern Oregon has talked about joining Idaho. God is great; beer is good and people are crazy.

  • Spokane is a college city (Gonzaga).

All college cities are (or soon will be) blue.

Socialism is a relentless siren song and the entire country will eventually be blue.

Long term, there is no hope.
