  • Just saw a story in the paper about a child that was setting on a parade float... Wheels on the trailer caught his feet and he was drug off and run over.

It's the season for many of us to be doing parades and hay rides, so lets keep safety in mind and be careful.

  • Oh wow does this take me back...
At homecoming this year, the froshies (I'm in high school) had a
float on a hay wagon, which was pulled by a beautifully restored
Farmall. There were a lot of froshies on the float, who were all
    standing up and throwing candy.
The farmall was driven by a frosh who obviously had never looked
twice at a tractor before. She was doing an awful job of driving. She
didn't get the idea of letting the clutch slowly. At one point (near
where I was watching), the parade got a little backed up and when she
needed to stop, she popped the clutch and slammed on the brakes.
    The freshman all fell over.
I don't see why anybody who owns a classic like that would let
someone who hasn't driven a tractor before drive a tractor that's
pulling a wagon with UNSECURED people!
    It was still funny.
