  • The old wrenches handle never was user friendly so I put a different one on it.

    I learned quite a while ago that when you buy a new drain plug, make a wrench to fit it. Nothing fits it like a square hole, not an open end, not anything. And it's easy to make. Carefully torch a hole or use a 1" hole saw and and a square file. Either way it needs to fit tight.

  • Nice and a great weld joint Patrick not to have gotten into the raised letters, or even better if it's the pointed end you added with the smoothness and all- I'm very impressed.

    Guess I'm lucky that I've never had to buy new oil drain plugs, just a few new copper seals for some along the way!

  • Thanks Larry. That handle was an 1 1/2" structural spud wrench before I cut the head off of it. Probably a $60 tool when it was new. Weighed over 5 lbs. Got it at a farm sale for $4.
