I had forgotten this post and just ran onto it again. Dean was right about what seal was leaking. We finally got the blades off from underneath with loads of PB Blaster, heat and a neighbor’s impact tool that was bigger than ours. Mary coerced the new seal into place and we finally got it back together. I have used it on three smaller projects now without a single leak. I brush-hogged my neighbor’s woods for a couple of hours one day and he told me I could do it again anytime I was in the mood. I am pleased to have a heavy duty brush-hog for just a little over $500 when that amount won’t even buy a light gauge new machine anymore. We’ll be taking it to hog our Mo. property once bow season is behind us.
