John...I'm not a hydr. cylinder expert, but I'd say the internal piston seal is leaking to the other side, inside the cylinder & then out the vent. Someone will correct me if wrong, but the packing would be where the rod leaves the cylinder.

Likely you'll need to disassemble one of'em & measure the seals, etc. Better yet, take the old parts to a hydr. shop to match.
