pto shaft/bush hog

i recently purchased a used 5 ft bush hog from a guy and the pto shaft is still attched to the mower. i am trying to get it off to install a new one to my 48 8n but for some reason it appears to be on there pretty well. at the shaft on the mower it has a hole for a bolt to go through so i thought with a little p b blaster it would come off. any suggestions would be appreciated.. oh ya i do not see a sheer pin either. thank you for your help.....
