Like Ed said, and also there is no reason you need to make a full cut. A six foot mower can be used as a five or a four foot mower too. One of the untalked about issues with mowers is blade tip speed. Inertia plays a role. A mower that takes a lot of inertia to start generally works well on a lower horse machine and has a higher blade speed. Higher horsepower does a better job powering through with a lower blade tip speed.
That being said, in lighter mowing a 600 series tractor will do perfectly fine with a six foot mower, just judge the thickness of material to cut and gauge your cutting width appropriately for heavier materials.
I mow for hire a lot and have slap wore more than a couple mowers in my time on N series/ hundred series/ Farmalls, and yes.....my Kubota.
Use an ORC.
