It may be possible to prove grease fittings on the outside of the cover.My 640 would freeze up in winter.Took a hair dryer to free up the shaft.I have not had a top cover off an 8N for 5 years but think grease fittings would work.The lever is die cast and will stick to the shaft.I have had to use a small puller to get the hub off when replacing friction discs.The hub is a 30 buck part if you break it.A torch will melt it.
