You could just have an old worn out engine and it's time for a rebuild. Oil pressure at idle should be around 35 PSI when first starting up regardless of outside temperature. If the engine is worn, oil pressure will slowly decrease at idle when warmed up/hot. If it gets down under 10 PSI, that is a good sign it is a worn engine. You can do a compression check to verify condition of engine too. I do not suspect a faulty gauge, guessing and replacing parts that may not be needed should be avoided until you know for sure what to buy.
