If the points were open, no harm, no foul. It probably wouldn't restart just because ........they all do that every so often.
When you pull started it, all the battery voltage went to the coil, none to the starter and it fired up.
If the points were closed, it may have damaged the coil in the long run, but not enough to keep it from starting and running this time.
If it was 12v, points closed, key on, we wouldn't be guessing if you burned up the coil.
