The tractor started and ran when it was pulled.

It matters greatly if it is a 12v or 6v system and front or side coil.

Points closed, 6v, side coil, I agree it would take a while on a side coil.

You can melt a 12 v front coil in 10 minutes. Probably a bit longer w/ 6v.
