Used in the Ford Arrow Sport. Not a great aircraft engine. Heavy, for 80hp, 400+# vs. less than 200 for a Continental. Alloy heads, pistons, pan and a 2:1 gear reduction to the prop.
Probably wasn't a threat to the Staggerwing market in the day.
A little off topic but........Late sixties, early seventies I drove to Port Clinton Oh. from Detroit with my girlfriend to fly the Port Clinton / Put in Bay route in a TriMotor. Regular service then. About 17 to 20 minutes IIRC Canvas seats, loud, lots of vibration, clear view of the engine instruments on the pylon. THen to Sandusky for an afternoon at Cedar Point. DId it quite a few times, and........... WE LOVED IT! Also found a joint there that served Cincinnati Chili almost as good as the original at the Skyline.
