Been a while since my last question from Maine re: uncle's49 8N. its been down for ov er a year having given up on my inability to figure problems out. "Won't start" delema "fixed" fall '16 with new condenser. Got it back to its shed, idled for 30 minutes, turned off and that was it. Fall '17 towed out of woods and trailered to mechanic friend. New coil(old one had about 5 hours on it) got it running great again. Parked it back in its place, starting and running every other day in seasonally cool temps. The day arrived for its big job. Backed out and engine "stumbled" and stalled. Been in yard, covered, since then.
Thinking its time for 12V conversion and new wiring harness. But it sure would be encouraging to get it running again before that! Could ballast resistor failure killed coil, again. It ran for a couple hours with the new coil before its relapse. 75 tips says 10:1 maintainance but for me its been 1:10! Just want to work uncle's tractor(same age as me)
