I like the way you think Dollar Bill. After searching the web for too long last night, I did find a post on the YT site with the same question. One fella posted that there was no bumper on the ROR, but there was a bumper that attached to the underside of the seat pan. Here is the post:

"I asked this exact same question when I wes restoring my own Rest-o-Ride seat. The consensus was it did not have any rubber top on it - but it sure looked like it would to me. As it turns out, it is lined up with the hole for the small rubber bumper that goes on the bottom of the seat - and those bumpers are still available. I just used the bumper for the seat - it works fine. I would just use a hex bolt and a nut to act as a stop when you get it to the right heighth."
