The original Ford tractor Implement lamp, p/n 8N-15500, didn't use a sealed beam lamp, but they can be substituted. The originals used a bayonet style bulb soldered in place and then a socket was pushed onto it -see picture of wiring below. The sealed beam lamp can be used and the wiring clips, p/n 8N-15534 made by and sold in sets of 3 by Carpenter, are used to secure the lamps in place in the bezel as shown in picture below. It takes patience and skill to get them installed. Use a pair of needle nose pliers and a screwdriver. WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES in case a clip slips and goes shooting off in space. I set one in place then go 180° across and set another. The original MPC's show 3 clips but I've found the lamp stays in place better with four. Working with an original lamp, you need to orientate the bulb so the FORD logo is at the top centered by the bezel screw hole. You need to pay attention also to the screw tang so a clip doesn't interfere with it. Here are some pictures of the retainer clips in place on a sealed beam lamp and an original lamp showing the wiring, switch, and socket. You'll have to do some wiring surgery working with the sealed beam. Carpenter make s ands sells all the parts including a non-original wire with a spade connector on o ne end and a bullet connector on the other for use on a sealed beam lamp. Just8Ns sells all the Carpenter parts too. Most every other parts supplier stocks them too but watch out for severe price markups.
