Holy cats! You guys are giving me flash backs to the days of waiting in a mile long line of cars on the St Ignace side in a snowstorm and fifteen below waiting to board the "Vacationland" or the "City of Petosky."on our way to Detroit.
I'm ex pat-Yooper living in Northern California by way of Detroit and Northern Wisconsin. Still consider Michigan my true home.
.....and it's true when you see two people conversing, holding up their palms and pointing to various spots on one representing the Upper or the Lower, you can bet its two Michiganders discussing Michigan geography.
I never could figure out why an 8900' bridge, out here, painted with red oxide primer is called a wonder of the world and The Big Mac at 26,000'+ (IIRC) able to withstand hundred plus mile an hour winds, ice floes and eighty degree temperature swings is under appreciated. A salmon lays a million eggs and no one notices, a hen lays one wakes up the neighborhood. The power of advertizing I guess..
It's early but I think I'll root through the freezer and see if I can find pasty for lunch.
