There is a new, reproduction early 9N voltage regulator on ebay right now. It isn't listed as such, only as a '38 Ford unit. This is the same seller who I bought a half dozen from several years ago also listed as such then too. What he didn't know and I did tell him was that this VR was also the one used on the early 9N Tractors using the 9N-10000-A small, 2-wire/2-brush generator. These were only used with first 9N-A generator. His are new solid state units but are acceptable to use for anyone doing an early 9N restoration. There are a few precautions to take, but I know of two fellers that are using them in their early 9Ns with no problems. Now, usual disclaimer here -I don't know this seller, but have bought from before as stated. I just thought I'd share as I know a few guys have asked me where to get one. Here is one of them on my 1939 Ford-Ferguson 9N:
