There was a company, like Bruce said in Tip 74, called the Howard Rotovator Co. who made an auxiliary transmission that geared down the standard 9N transmission and also made an implement they called the ROTOVATOR for tilling -see LINK below. These units are almost as rare as hens teeth now, but even if you found one, they are no longer serviced meaning parts are no longer made. Some parts can be repopped by the right person with the right machines. There are alternatives to ground breaking with an N though. A standard 2-bottom plow followed by a disc harrow will work; a Rotary Hoe will work; and a Field Cultivator or equivalent will work too.
