First thing to do is find out if the old tires are filled. Deal with draining and possibly capturing whatever was used. If you know they are not filled, and you are changing them manually, with tire irons, definitely leave them on the tractor. It is much easier to pry them with the tractor holding them in place. You can also air the old ones down and drive the tractor in figure 8s to get them moving off the bead if you don't have one of those fancy bead breaker tools.
