Never having torn one of these apart I'm not sure just what is in that control valve. There seems to be the actuator rod, a spring, and the spool. I don't know how they are connected. Wondering if it is possible for the actuator rod to move and the spool to be stuck. No idea how you would check that.

From what I've read the relief valve frequently causes problems. When I get back on it my intentions are to drain enough oil to see the relief valve and find out if it is leaking.

I also read an article which, in the case of a stuck control valve, said to drain the oil and put 5 gallons of kerosene in. Don't remember the rest of the instructions. But where does one buy kerosene any more?

Thanks,

Jack
