I believe the Van Sickle Paint Company has been supplying the TISCO paints for a long time. They have all the recipes for each shade of paint, mostly the originals, or some facsimile close enough, mix them in large batches, then given a lot number for each batch. It is highly probable no two batches are exactly the same. This is especially true if batches made ten years ago are compared to a batch recently made. I find the TISCO M2888 Dark Grey to be not quite exactly right to the original Ford 9N shade anyway. It needs a tinge more blue. Veteran NTC member Steve Dabrowski restored an early 9N a few years ago and found a shade of grey that comes as close to the original than any other brand sold today. I don't have that brand handy but if you search the archives here you will find all of his posts he made on his project as he progressed along with his 9N restoration. If you are not particular about the actual color, and not doing a complete restoration, and on a budget, the TISCO brand will work fine.
