Here are some pictures of the OEM Ford Front Mount distributor, p/n 9N-12000 assembly. The base casting number is 9N-12131 as shown in cast raised characters. Casting numbers are never listed in the parts books, only assembly numbers and individual parts are. The circled cast raised (2) is simply a mold number. Another identifier of an OEM unit is the vent and drain hole plugs shown.

Note the cracked aluminum boss around the cam and bushing end. This is what happens when you install the unit 180 off. I keep this as a reminder of what not to do.
