Email is open, I probably have a spare knob and can scrounge a screw.
I had the same problem with the exterior faucets on the house. The screws will loosen and if not tightened the knobs will fall off. The knob is usually right there, but the screw is always gone for good. I don't carry a tube of locktight around with me when making general repairs. My fix for this problem was to stick the screw thru the knob, take the pair of pliers I do carry, and slightly deform the threads near the back of the knob. The screw now threads in fine until it hits those slightly dinged threads. One or two more turns and it's tight and will now stay tight.
