I recommend having a helper. I've done these by myself only because I had no choice. I will never do another system again without a helper. It is good practice for safety reasons too. I also highly recommend using all new parts -cylinder, piston, and a complete cleaning of the pump. A pump rebuild requires dropping it. Note the 8N cylinder has the scallop cast at the 7 O'Clock position -a must have for clearance. On the 9N/2N cylinder it's not required. You can get kits for about 4100. The I&T FO-4 Manual has the R&R procedure too.
