Often suspected 'fuel issues' turn out to be electrical issues and vice versa. OK, you have a 12V switch over job, with a side mount distributor. Perform the fuel flow test to rule out if the carb is the issue. You don't need the air hose connected to do that. If carb passes, 1-pint of flow in 2 minutes, put hose on carb then proceed to the electrical system. If carb fails, remove and rebuild properly or have someone qualified do it if you don't know or don't want to try it on your own. I have some already rebuilt on my shelf ready to go -my email is open. While carb is off, verify the wiring is all correct on your tractor. Use the LINK below to our HOW-TO'
s for JMOR's Wiring Pictograms. Scroll down til you find your side mount 8N and then scrutinize your setup to the diagram. 12V, no generator or voltage regulator wired in, and an alternator, and a 12V coil? If wiring passes, reinstall carb and try again. If wiring is different, determine the incorrect problem and fix.
