Wow, Grading 40 acres with an 8N would be like sweeping floors with a Q-tip (wrong tool for the job). It can be done but how much time do you have? I have graded a few small areas to improve logging trails in our 12 acres of woods. Any significant cutting or back-filling is a days work for just a short stretch of trail. I've been using a back blade to cut, and 3-point dirt scoop to fill. The dirt scoop will only move about 1/4 yard at a time. As others have said, you need a bulldozer or full size backhoe/loader to do any serious work on 40-plus acres (unless this is a hobby you want to stay busy playing around with for the next 5 or 6 years).
