I'm thinking the center disc is rusted to the hub. Make a mixture of half transmission fluid and half acetone, pour this in between the disc and hub and let it set over night. Butane torch ain't a lot but it might just be enough if you get lucky. I don't have an acetylene torch either and I've made it this far ;-)

Just keep putting that penetrating oil mixture on it every couple hours and then in the morning give it a try again with the big hammer and little torch.
