Hello, I am working on putting the rear axle back together on a 1952 8N with inner and outer seals. Looking at the manuals and all the websites for parts, the diagram for the rear axle assembly shows outer seal D5NN4115A in two locations. In the exploded view the first is in part of the seal retainer that bolts on outside the brake shoe assembly. This makes sense. This same seal is also shown between the brake shoe assembly and the axle bearing retainer. This second one doesn't seem like it would actually fit in the retainer and appears to me to be a typo (I don't see this seal in the axle bearing retainer on my tractor, but I got the tractor disassembled). If it were correct, this parts diagram would then list three seals, the outer in the seal retainer, the inner in axle housing (I see where this goes as well on my tractor), and this third one described above between the brake assembly and the axle bearing retainer. Hoping someone can clear up this confusion.
