I have 2 original cables for a J1 you can have. One is longer than the other and was shortened by by a cable clamp. ( don't know why- may have been a replacement for an 8N hookup). I had new ones swedged in Grand Rapidis using course threads instead of fine thread.
I have an operators manual that shows a picture of the side plates and braces. Maybe by comparison to picture of blade, you could determine its demensions for cutting out of plate steel.

I push all the snow I desire, without side plates, with loaded tires and tire logging chains on my 2N with sherman 2 speed xmission.
