I bought truck blade skids, and fabbed mounts. They don't work worth a dam with spring mounted in snow blade position. (the blade tilts leaving the skids high and dry and then you plow unfrozen gravel. Instead I put a clevis on drawbar and an adjustable chain to top link hookup. Can set blade height at 1 " above ground and go like hell without breaking frame. ( also fabbed spring mounts from a truck blade for use of snow plowing. I won't even consider side plate as I angle the blade and hit it straight on at 8MPH. Got video to show it and maybe on YT site you can find it with my posts.
I welded 1/4" X 1' strap steelaround pipes at at cross pipe weld, for added strength ( tried to bulldoz to many 16" tree logs).
