I am still working on the Jubilee, and In fact got the motor pulled today.
This is about the 47 2N. Over the past two years, it has gotten harder and harder to start. The starter is strong. It used to start very easy with the throttle in any position. Now the throttle has to be in the lowest possible position. It also floods very easily. I have checked and I am getting spark to the spark plugs and I am getting gas.
Once it is running, it does great! It has plenty of power for mowing with a 5’ brush hog, box blade, or pulling a trailer full of firewood.
Could it be that the distributor cap is worn to the point that the timing is off? I have changed points, condenser, and coil before. Tonight I had to throw a tarp over it because I couldn’t get it started and it normally “sleeps” in the shed. I have had it since 2002.
