Shouldn't this be applied to the NEGATIVE battery post, as 6v N's were positive ground? In other words, it's the " hot" terminal that needs the insulator from grounding.

If you have a negative ground tractor, as in 99% of all 12v conversions, then the application shown would work as desired.

But you get nothing from applying an insulator to the positive battery post of a positive ground tractor.
