My bad, I'm not using the correct terminology, what I should have said instead of "speed shifting" is "rev matching." https://youtu.be/FnXLZg_O1rk?t=73.
What I'm speaking of, is when one becomes good enough matching RPMs, to where no clutch input is needed, and transmission slips smoothly into next gear.
I have often times heard other Truckers refer to this as "speed shifting" (since it's faster than using the clutch), but that's not the correct terminology and I'm sure there is a more proper term for this practice?
Since a lot of people get these two terms mixed up, here is a complete guide to clear up any confusions what speed shifting is: https://youtu.be/LUE0Uq2hpEI?t=82
"People often get confused when talked about speed shifting. They believe it is a technique of shifting by not using the clutch. But, they are wrong. In actual, speed shifting means changing the gears by not uplifting your right foot off the accelerator. This practice helps the racers to attain the greatest acceleration while driving."
Anybody wants to understand the ins-and-outs of shifting, this engineer guy explains things pretty clearly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZBqb0ZJSwU&t=12s
