A 25 GPM pump is way to large and greatly exceeds the 5 gallon capacity of the loader's reservoir. You will be over heating the oil and quite possibly whipping it into a froth pumping at that rate through the 3/8 lines on the loader.

You also have an issue with the filter. Trying to pull 25 GPM through a suction side filter will likely cause cavitation problems in the pump.

The original pump was closer to 10 GPM, possibly half that depending on exactly what model you have. All these pieces play together and have to be in the proper balance. Put that 25 GPM pump aside for your log splitter project and get one sized more appropriately for the loader. I also suggest you replace the suction side filter with a high flow steel mesh strainer. If you want a filter put it on the tank return.
