No 'N-Series or Hundred Series Models were ever painted blue at the Rouge/Highland Park factories. The FORD Blue and White scene didn't come out til 1962 with the Thousand Series Models. However, many farmers did paint their N's blue, my uncles included, in the 60's as they liked the blue better. In addition, the Ford sales crew was instructed for dealers to repaint their excess inventory of 2Ns when the new 8N was released in July, 1947 with Vermillion (red) and Medium Grey in hops buyers would 'think' they were getting a newer 8N model. When the Thousand Series Models came out in the early 1960's, dealers were offered to bring their Hundred Series models in to be repainted blue and white. No records exist to indicate how many were actually done by dealers and I'd say most you see were done by the farmers themselves. It's your tractor and you can do whatever you want, including painting it, but I caution many here will advise against using the yeller & green motif!
