I have the same problem. My original had so much corrosion in it I couldn't clean it. Seems the metal over the years deteriorated and blocked up the assembly. I opted to buy one from Steiner. The new one works just fine except for a leak where the glass bowl inserts into the valve body. No matter how much I tighten the thumb wheel it leaks. Apparently the cork gaskets these days are not like the originals. I need to find a way to seal it better before I have a fire on my hands. Open to suggestions....
