Not sure exactly what you're describing. The older Ford tractors are almost infinitely rebuildable.
A great many are still chugging along with low compression and so forth. I've rebuilt some that didn't absolutely require it. They could probably have gone on for years.
Main reasons for a newer machine would be the need or desire for more modern conveniences, such as live hydraulics and PTO, larger gear selection, etc.
